The Fernor walnut variety was created in France within the INRA breeding program by crossing Franquette and Lara. It is early-bearing, late-flowering, high-yielding, and resistant to fungal and bacterial diseases. It has medium growth, a straight trunk, and develops a relatively narrow crown. Its fruits are large, with a medium-thick shell that is easily cracked. The taste is aromatic, slightly sweet, without bitterness, and of excellent quality. It is excellently suited for both home gardening and commercial cultivation.
